MCDOs in the news
16 Feb 2024 - MCDOA past-Presidents Roger Readwin and Paddy McAlpine were seen together recently at a trade fair in San Diego. Roger Readwin is the UK’s Naval Attaché in Washington, DC and Paddy is a senior military advisor for a company called Thinklogical.
The circumstances of this meeting were rather different from those of a previous encounter in June 2017 when they witnessed amphibious landings at Utska in Poland together during BALTOPS 17. At the time, Paddy was NATO’s DCOMSTRIKFOR (Deputy Commander Strike Force) based in Lisbon while Roger was CMFP (Captain Mine Warfare and Patrol Vessels, Fishery Protection and Diving) based in Portsmouth.
In the meantime, Tim Davey was seen presenting CPO WS (AWW) Jamie Phillips with his valedictory certificate after serving 20 years in the Royal Navy. Tim is the Captain of HMS COLLINGWOOD and the Maritime Warfare School.
